NEW YORK – Up With Paper, the world’s leading marketer of innovative three-dimensional greeting cards, announced the launch of an all new greeting card line, Sight ‘n Sound, at the 2010 National Stationery Show today. The new line, launching with a 28-card everyday offering and shipping in January, 2011, is the first complete pop-up everyday sound line. Each 5x7-inch card folds flat in an envelope for mailing, pops up with a built-in base for display purposes, and includes a push-button activated sound effect that complements the card design.
The Sight ‘n Sound line, developed by Up With Paper Creative Director Monika Brandrup, will be available exclusively in the specialty card and gift market, includes envelopes and multiple message stickers for each card printed on recycled paper produced from post-consumer waste. The cards may be merchandised in Up With Paper’s permanent and temporary fixtures, or in-line in any greeting card fixture, and have an SRP of $7.99.
The company is featuring several samples of the new line at its booth (#3104) at the National Stationery Show, and will be sending a sample to all of its current customers, as well as offering samples to visitors at the major gift shows next winter“ These amazing Sight ‘n Sound cards have to be seen to be believed,” said George White, president of Up With Paper. “The unique combination of design, embellishments, and sound featured on each card will facilitate a superior emotional connection between the sender and the recipient, engaging both fully in the communication conveyed by the card. The new line of pop-up sound cards follows a highly successful test of sound cards in the company’s Halloween Panoramics greeting card offering in 2009, during which unit and dollar sales of sound cards increased by double-digit margins over non-sound cards in the same program. As a result of this test, in addition to this new line, Up With Paper is including four sound card designs in its 2010 Halloween Panoramics offering. Samples of these cards are also available at the company’s show booth.
“We are very excited to launch this new Sight ‘n Sound line at the National Stationery Show,” said White. “This line continues our trend of breaking new ground in the market, as we have previously done with our Treasures, Panoramics, Turning Points™ and Pop-Up Snow Globe Greetings®. We look forward to retailer reaction to the line, and to partnering with them for growth in the specialty market with this line.”
